The Philippines is a colorful country in many aspects. Also when it comes to music. There are many genres and styles in Philippine music. See wikipedia for more information on Philippine music.
There are so many talented singers in the Philippines, but most of them are only famous within the Philippines or some parts of Asia, but they are not known outside Asia. To name a few: Mark Bautista, Sarah Geronimo, Regine Velasquez and Ogie Alcasid.
And then there are those who have become known worldwide. You might have heard of Freddie Aguilar for example, who became world famous with his song Anak, which was sold in over 56 countries, translated into 26 different languages and of which more than 30 million copies were sold.
You may also have heard of the newer, younger singer called Cherise Pempengco,who became a sensation on YouTube. She was discovered on YouTube and ever since has made many performances: she appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show three times, she performed at two presidential pre-inaugural events in Washington D.C. and she performed at the Oscars.
But Cherise is not the only talent out there. When looking on YouTube, we have found many other talented singers which in our opinion shouldn't be left unnoticed. If you are interested, check out the list below. Whenever we find some new talent out there, we will add it to this list.
