Welcome to Discovering The Philippines

The Philippines is a country in Southeast Asia with Manila as its capital city. The country is an archipelago of over 7,000 islands (7,107 islands to be exact) in the western Pacific Ocean. The Philippines is one of the great treasures of Southeast Asia. It is often overlooked by travellers because of its location on the 'wrong' side of the South China Sea. But those travellers who are willing to go the extra distance to reach The Philippines will be greatly rewarded: since the Philippines is not that well-known among tourists, it is an excellent place to escape the hordes of mass tourism, unlike other parts of Southeast Asia.

Not only can you experience a wonderful and exciting holiday in the Philippines, it also is an excellent place for early retirement. Or maybe you want to make a change in your life? Ever thought of living in a tropical paradise and even make a living there? Most say that the Philippine job market is impossible to break into from within, but this is not entirely true. Or maybe you are lonely and are looking for a soulmate? The Philippines is the place to be if you're looking for your dreamgirl. Filipina women are family minded loyal women who still believe in teamwork.

If you are planning to make a trip to the Philippines, whether it will be your first visit or not, whether it is for a holiday or for some other reason, you should definitely check out Perry Gamsby's eBooks. Perry Gamsby is an expert on the Philippines and he has written several eBooks on different Philippine subjects. Each of his books contains valuable information for little money for everyone who wants to go to the Philippines.

If you're just looking for a holiday and want to experience something new, then the Philippines is the place to go to. But before you go there, you might want to orientate yourself a bit more about the Philippines. Perry Gamsby's book, The Philippines Survival Handbook, is a book you shouldn't miss. It tells you how safe it is in the Philippines, things to watch out for, how to behave, etc.

So why visit the Philippines?

  • First and foremost, the Philippines is a place of natural wonders – a string of coral-fringed islands strewn across a vast expanse of the western Pacific. The Philippines offers some of the best diving and snorkelling places in the world, including wreck diving around Coron and swimming with the whale sharks off Donsol.

  • But also for the non-divers among us, the Philippines offers tremendously beautiful landscapes with wonders enough to stagger even the most jaded traveller: the Chocolate Hills of Bohol, Banaue & the Rice Terraces and fascinating reminders of the islands' history in places like Leyte, Samar, Cebu and Vigan.

  • And if you like the ocean and the beach, there are many white-sand beaches you can go to, like the beaches in Boracay (most famous among tourists), but also in Bohol and Cebu. If you have ever seen The Blue Lagoon, a movie from 1980 with Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins, you might have been impressed by the scenery in that movie. This movie was shot on the islands of Palawan. Palawan is like a tropical paradise on earth, with amazing mountainous landscapes that will astonish you, with a unique flora and fauna, and with culinary delicacies.

  • And then there are the many world class Philippine hotels and resorts. The Philippines have something to offer for everybody: low budget hotels and resorts as well as the more luxurious hotels and resorts. Even the more luxurious hotels and resorts are available for some reasonable prices. If you really want to experience the feeling of being in a tropical paradise, I would recommend a stay at one of the many beautiful resorts that the Philippines has to offer. Click on one of the banners below to check out some of the best deals for your travel needs in the Philippines.

All in all, the Philippines has so much to offer: diving and snorkling in some of the best places on this planet, beautiful landscapes and natural wonders in places like Bohol and Banaue, historic places like Leyte, Samar, Cebu and Vigan, countless tropical white sanded beaches at the many islands that make up the Philippines like Boracay, Bohol, Cebu and Palawan.

Maybe you are looking for an adventurous holiday, or do you just want to enjoy a relaxing holiday in tropical paradise? But you want to escape the mass tourism? Then come to the Philippines!

Or are you looking for a Filipina pen pal or girlfriend? Or maybe you want to enjoy your (early) retirement instead of spending the rest of your days in a retirement home or village? Then the Philippines is the place to be!
